Senior Fenestration Engineer

Location: Bensalem, PA | Direct Hire, we do not use staffing agencies or headhunters!

Vetrina Windows is a local manufacturer of custom aluminum windows, doors, bi-folds and curtain walls. Our projects include new buildings and restoration designs, residential new builds and upgrades as well as design and reviews, specifications review, building enclosure commissioning, and delegated design of facades and building enclosures.

This position requires thorough knowledge of structural design and engineering techniques. Responsible to plan and conduct independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform system design calculations, load calculations and energy modeling.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and recommend effective solutions.

  • Review customer specifications and drawings to confirm scope of project and proposal adherence to customer specifications.

  • Generate 3D drawings as needed, cut sheets and other project documentation.

  • Review and select materials and equipment that comply with component specification documents and application requirements.

  • Communicate to senior management assessed risk and project status.

  • Communicate with clients, their contractors, architect and/or other designated contacts.

  • Prepare and complete shop/fabrication drawings.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering + a minimum of 10 years related experience in fenestration

  • Knowledge in window and curtain wall façade design and project development

  • Highly Proficient and Demonstrated Proficiency in 3D CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD, MS Office, MC Excel, Adobe Acrobat

  • Job will generally be performed in our office, but may require travel to visit a client’s office or industrial/construction job site. When working off site, you are required to wear required safety equipment (hard hats, glasses, vests supplied by Vetrina) and adhere to the site’s safety requirements.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

  • Develop a working knowledge of the capabilities for aluminum, plastics, gaskets, glazing and other materials associated with the business

  • Generate a bill of materials (BOM) for the Purchasing and Production departments

  • Participate in group discussions and meetings with management

  • Responsible for developing production documents, managing revisions and communicating changes across various formats and departments

  • Assist in maintaining online folders and records related to order confirmations, material allocation and order production with our suppliers

  • Ensure all orders are completed in production according to all quality and technical specifications.

  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal, displaying strong written and oral communications

  • Strong knowledge of statics, strength of materials, and thermal analysis

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Approximately 5% Customer Jobsites - May be exposed to a variety of weather elements as well as areas of high noise levels, hazardous propellants, chemicals and industrial facilities.

  • Approximately 85% Office.

  • Approximately 10% Light Industrial – May be exposed to areas of high noise levels, hazardous propellants, chemicals and industrial facilities.
